Ruthe A. Sholler earned her Master’s of Education degree at Lesley University,
Cambridge, Massachusetts and her Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts degree at the
Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Additionally, she studied with various
professors at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston.
During her professional career, she worked with nationally known artists, such as Betty
Lou Schlemm, Ed Whitney, Maggie Price, Ken Auster, and Peter Schroth. In the summer
of 2005, she studied at Studio Camnitzer, Valdottavo, Italy.
Currently, she is a faculty member at the South Shore Arts Center in Cohasset,
Massachusetts, and is a past faculty member of the Art League of Bonita Springs,
Florida. From 1975 to 1996, Ms. Sholler was an art educator for the Hingham Public
School System in Massachusetts.
She is an award-winning artist whose works have been exhibited in juried shows at the
Copley Society, Boston; Symphony Hall, Boston; South Shore Art Center, Cohasset;
Plymouth Artists Association, Plymouth, Massachusetts; New England Center Gallery,
University of New Hampshire; the Medical Center Gallery, University of Massachusetts
Medical School, Worcester; and also in juried exhibits in the states of Florida and Rhode
Island to name just a few.
Ms. Sholler is a member of the Monotype Guild of New England, South Shore Art
Center, National Education Association, Massachusetts Education Association, Hingham
Teachers Association, North River Arts Association, Fourth Floor Artists, Art League of
Bonita Springs in Florida; Von Leibig Art Association in Florida, Duxbury Art
Association, Scituate Art Association, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, and the
Southwest Florida Pastel Society.
